Coming Soon: LibSearch! A New Search & Discovery Interface to Make Research Easier
The Caltech Library is moving to the FOLIO library services platform and we're excited to offer LibSearch, our new search and discovery interface, for your research needs.
Making research easier
Caltech Library is happy to announce that we are migrating to a LibSearch on September 21, 2021, but we'll begin beta testing for the Caltech community on August 17.
Our new catalog will bring together most of the library’s collections into a single interface, including books, ebooks, journal articles, Archives, repositories like CaltechAUTHORS, and more. You will also be able to discover materials outside of our collections to request through DocuServe.
How does the new search interface affect me?
Our current catalog, TIND, will be retired on September 21, 2021. If you’d like to save any lists or export baskets from TIND beforehand, please read this FAQ for instructions. If you’d like to save your borrowing history, please reach out to us at library [at] caltech.edu for assistance (not available for all patrons).
We will also be migrating our Journals List to a new part of the discovery interface called Publication Finder, where you can browse our journal titles, ebook packages, and their coverage dates.
Where can I get more information?
You can start exploring LibSearch as well as Publication Finder in mid-August during our soft launch period. Until then, you can preview the new interface and its features through this introductory video.
Check this page for periodic updates or reach out to us at library [at] caltech.edu with any questions.
